Members of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon (GSPCO) have many diverse activities in which to participate all for the love of the dogs.

For hunting enthusiasts: Field Trials – The GSPCO holds a Spring and a Fall Field Trial each year at Boyce Corral in Madras, OR.

Walking Field Trial: A Walking Field Trial is held every year at Sauvie Island, OR.

Hunt Tests: Four hunt tests (2 weekends) are held at Sauvie Island, OR during the summer months.

Water Tests: Through the GSPCA the GSP Club of Oregon sponsors a Water Test – Three levels of water retrieve titles can be earned.

For show enthusiasts: Specialty Show, Obedience & Sweepstakes The club sponsors two specialty shows each year (winter and summer). The winter show is part of the Rose City Classic held at the Portland Expo Center one of the nation’s largest dog shows.

For everyone: Pacific Northwest Sportsmans Show. The club members bring their dogs to the booth for some hands on education about German Shorthaired Pointers.

Fun Day: The club sponsors a Fun Day for everyone to come out and enjoy the dogs and each other’s company.

Club Hunt: Each year the club arranges a hunt at a preserve in Central Oregon.

Holiday Party: In December, a Club Holiday Party is held. The club provides the meat and soft drinks, while club members show off their cooking skills and bring the side dishes and desserts. There is an abundance of great food, conversation and laughter!

Awards Banquet: Each year, following the winter Specialty Show, Obedience & Sweepstakes, the club has an Awards Banquet. After dinner, awards are presented to recognize the dog’s accomplishments from the past year.

Rescue: If there’s a GSP in need, the club has very special members who assist in rescuing and/or placing them in a loving home.

GSPCO Club Meetings: Bi-monthly club meetings are held to conduct business and plan all of the activities.

Club Membership: Interested parties can download the Membership Application from the club website. New members are voted in at each Club Meeting.
